Small Business Assistance
Available to qualified business owners throughout Livingston County.
1. BUSINESS OWNERSHIP TRAINING: Offers in-depth business planning and management instruction in a classroom setting one evening per week for approximately 12 weeks in the spring and fall.
2. CONTINUING EDUCATION: Seminars highlighting specific areas of interest are offered throughout the year.
3. SMALL BUSINESS TOOLS: The Alliance makes available a wide variety of business planning and management tools including internet access, software, and print and video media.
Downtown Revitalization Program
1. RENT SUBSIDY PROGRAM: Provides a 12-month rent subsidy of up to $2.00 per square foot to businesses filling vacant space in a targeted commercial district.
2. ESSENTIAL GOODS AND SERVICES GRANT PROGRAM: Provides a capital grant in the form of a forgivable loan to businesses that will either (i) provide essential goods or services determined to be lacking in the downtown, or (ii) create a significant draw of customers to the downtown area.
3. DOWNTOWN MARKETING & PROMOTION: The Alliance provides
technical assistance to the targeted downtowns.
Business Financing
The Livingston County Development Corporation offers low-interest loans to new or expanding microenterprises (businesses with five or fewer employees).
